A city renowned for green space, beautiful bridges, and buildings. Little is known about the beautiful city of Salzburg other than it being the filming location for The Sound of Music. Salzburg has a rich history of arts and culture, which is why it’s not only considered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site but a city of “outstanding value to humanity”. The capital of Austria is a city that charms and seduces travelers from the outset.   • Budapest
    Your short break starts in one of Europe's best cities, Budapest. This city is nicknamed the City of Spas for a reason, as it's filled with beautiful baths all with healing properties. Not to mention, the architecture surrounding the baths is a sight to see on its own! Take a walk through the streets of this city and you will notice the beauty becomes apparent. You will soon understand why many tourists flock here for a city break every year. The buildings here take on many architectural styles and the city is famous for its Art Nouveau architecture. Budapest's foodie scene is increasingly interesting, with plenty of restaurants and cafes serving up delicious local dishes such as goulash!

  • Ljubljana
    Ljubljana, Slovenia's capital city is the hidden gem of Europe and is loved by our customers! A short break or any type of break to Europe deserves to have Ljubljana included. This is a city renowned for green space, beautiful bridges and buildings. As well as dozens of different urban design elements such as lamposts, pillars, and pyramids. While you're here you need to visit Lake Bled. This is definitely one of the most spellbinding places in Slovenia, if not Europe. This incredibly scenic lake near the Alps looks too good to be real! With the island church, clifftop castle, and mountain backdrop, you're sure to find more than enough to keep you entertained here!

  • Salzburg
    The next stop on your Europe Horizon short break is none other than Salzburg! A lot of people don't know much about this fantastic city, apart from the fact it was the backdrop for The Sound of Music. So, if you take a city break or short break to Salzburg, you have to include a Sound of Music tour! Similar to Vienna, Salzburg is a Baroque city with architecture that will make you feel as if you're in a fairytale novel. A DIY tour of this city is a must as walking distances between attractions and establishments are short.

    End your short break in this beautiful Eastern Europe city that looks as if it was lifted straight from the pages of a fairytale. The clean, wide boulevards, efficient transport system, pleasant sights, and large green spaces. It's not hard to fall in love with this beautiful city. Vienna holds a considerable reputation for being the music capital of the world, with the likes of Mozart calling this place home. Coffeehouses have been an essential part of the city's cultural fabric since 1685. They make for great places to gather for a coffee, gossip and to eat Sacher Torte on your final day of this extended city break to Europe.

INCLUDED

Interrail Pass/Tickets:  We provide you with an Interrail pass  / Rail Tickets to cover all your rail journeys between each city throughout your trip. Your Interrail Pass is used along with any compulsory seat reservations required for your trip.

Compulsory Reservations: We include all compulsory seat reservations required during your trip. This means no pre-booking or making arrangements before you go. Simply use your Interrail Pass alongside the reservation we provide you with. Your reservations will be added to your app for ease of access.

Please note, when you travel to Europe on one of our packages, travel from your departing city is not included so you will need to book flights to the first city and home from the last city for this package.

All our package prices are based on Youth Interrail Passes, so our clients who are over 26 years of age at the time of travel will be required to pay an extra £45.00 for an Adult Interrail Pass.

Where will I be staying?

During the checkout process you will be asked to select from our 3 accommodation options:

  • Standard Hostel (shared rooms)
  • Private Hostel rooms (shared only with those you travel with)
  • Hotel accommodation where you can select between double and twin rooms.

Below is a list of our accommodation partners in each city where you will stay. In the event that any of the hotels/hostels listed below are not available, you will stay with our other partners of a similar standard and quality.

The Association of Bonded Travel Organisers Trust Limited (ABTOT) provides financial protection under The Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018 for Interrailingpackages Ltd Member ship number 5351, and in the event of their insolvency, protection is provided for:

 

  • Non-flight packages

 

ABTOT cover provides for a refund in the event you have not yet travelled or repatriation if transportation was included in your package.  Please note that bookings made outside the UK are only protected by ABTOT when purchased directly with Interrailingpackages Ltd.

Covid 19 Updates

Following the outbreak of Covid19 across Europe in 2020, Interrailingpackages added some additional provisions to ensure our clients are always kept safe:

 

  • Free Date Change up to 28 days before your departure should there be new concerns around any new Covid19 outbreak.

 

  • New E-Ticket & App Services: Get ALL your train reservations, tour tickets & other travel information documents added to your Interrailing App account free of charge so they can be accessed at the touch of your thumb and with little or physical contact.

 

  • Mobile Interrail Pass: From January 2021, you will be able to get your Interrail pass sent directly to your mobile phone meaning for the first time your Interrail adventure can be totally ticketless!
