Jai Howell
My name is Jai Harrison Howell and I am twenty-two year’s young and I have quadriplegic cerebral palsy and non-verbal, however I communicate using my I-Pad with a talking app called proloquo2 go, This enables me to voice my thoughts and opinions, in the Community and at College.
I am super active and I love being out, my favourite thing in all the world is apple products and music. I’m always at gigs and festivals, my favourite bands are Elbow, Coldplay & Pink Floyd.
I also have a girlfriend Holly and we have been together for nearly Four years.
I’ve been studying for four years now at Wirral Metropolitan College in Merseyside, where I am completing an independent living course, which involves cooking, maths, English and life skills, which I love. I’m also doing a Gateway award (Gold level after achieving bronze and silver) with Wirral Mencap, this involves charity work, wheelchair football, photography, art & drama.
Recently with the help of Interrailing packages myself and my PA’s backpacked around Europe for a month, I visited many Countries and got to see loads of sites and explore many exciting places. When i got home i was so proud to find out I had been invited to the House of Lords where i won an award for Bravery.
My Dream is to become an Ambassador for people like myself, who are wanting to discover the world of travel, meeting new people and pushing Boundaries showing everybody anything is possible with planning and help from those around us!
None of this would have been possible without the magical assistance from Donal from Interrailing Packages, he was able to guide us through every step from Accessible transport, supplies, hotels, Points of Interest, Special assistance etc.
